A lot of things happened since our first article. We are supposed to write at least one article per month, but as you can see this is only the second one. As we are a little bit late, I choose to write this second article about my summer here in Slovakia. And it’s a great way to end the holidays.
Now that this summer is officially ended, I can say that it was the best summer I ever had.
In July a friend of mine came to see me, it was amazing and a little bit confusing at the same time. Not confusing in a bad way, not at all, but it took me some time to realized that my french friend was here with me, in Slovakia. This is the first experience I had of being in another country with a friend. During this time, I went to the High Tatras with my friend and Zuzanna, my mentor. We visited the treetop walk, it was wonderful ! Even if I loose a lot of money during this period, I created so many new memories ! Then, we participated to our mid-term training, it is something in relation with our volunteering in the European Solidarity Corp. We went to Poprad, in the High Tratas again. Even if the weather wasn’t so good, we had the chance to admire the view on the moutain for five days. I was really impatiente about this training. We did it two or three days after we arrived here, during our quarantine, but it was on Zoom. So now, we had the opportunity to meet everyone in real. Obviously I didn’t wait for the mid-term training to meet some of these people. I went to Bratislava as soon as the restrictions were better to met who is now some of my best meeting this year. So I was super exciting to see my friends again, in a different place. Of course I also met some new people, well, not so new but in real it is really different than in front of your computer.
Then July was quite over. I had some “free days”, what is mean that I did absolutely nothing than sleeping. This month was amazing. And I couldn’t imagine at this point that August will be even better. I did not do so many things in the beginning, just going to Bratislava to meet some friends or chilling at my place. But everything changed the 10th of August. I went to my first Eramus + Project in Oscadnica, a town next to Cadca. At first, I accepted to do it because Zuzka was the main organisator of it and it was an excuse to spend some time with her in a different environment. I expected nothing, just living a new experience with my friend, that’s all. Well, it was the best experience I had this entire year so far ! I met a bunch of amazing people from Turkey, Portugal and Serbia. I met some real friends there. And I discovered some news things about myself. First, I handle borovicka way better than 6 months ago. Then, I love doing Erasmus + project. It was the first one of a long list. It is not an exageration, I’ll do an other one in a couple of months, with the same friends I met in August. I can’t wait for it ! This is the kind of work environement I love, and I want. I am already thinking of organizing some projects like this when I will be back to France.
But every good things need to end. And what a better way to end this project by going to Praha with my new friends ? It was my first time in Praha, and I complitely fell in love with this city. Indeed, I went back to Praha a week after, with one of my friend from Bratislava. And this is how I ended my summer. I spend the last week-end in Praha, doing boat, buying books, riding a scooter in the middle of the city, and taking pictures of everything like the little tourist I am. Now I am looking at all my pictures and I can’t wait to go back to France to show them to my friends and telling them all the stories behind them.
