Youth Exchanges allow groups of young people from different countries to meet and live together within maximum 21 days. During the exchange, participants are together involved in the program which includes the mix of seminars, exercises, discussions, role-plays, simulations, outdoor activities etc. The learning process during the youth exchanges uses the non-formal education methods. Youth exchanges are targeted to: development of competences; awareness of social relevant themes; getting to know the new cultures, habits and lifestyles, particularly through mutual learning; strengthening values such as solidarity, democracy, friendship, etc.

The target group of Youth Exchange is young people from 13-30 years old, sometimes upper limit may be even lower, depending on individual project. The exchange is often led by the participants themselves who devise activities. At the first sight, unlike the training course, youth exchange seems to be more relaxed and it is not involved too deep into the issues.
