Rara Woulib (FR): Waiting for the Water Sprite

A Poetic and Musical Walk to Rediscover Our Changing Landscape

📍 Start: Rajec town square
📅 Saturday, October 25, 10:30 a.m.
🎟️ Free entry

We invite you to discover – or rediscover – the ordinary and extraordinary places of Rajec. Places that have slipped from our memory, places that have taken on new meanings, non-places, or Places with a capital P. The performative walk around Dubová is the result of two years of research, conversations with the French theatre group Rara Woulib, an exploration of the significance of water in the Rajec Valley, the ecology of the area, and its memory.
We invite you to join encounters where we will share stories, memories, and experiences of the former ski lift, the sacred sites on Dubová, the Veronika swimming pool, as well as meadows and hills. A walk through the fairytale landscape of not only our memory. We will discover wells and springs, examine the water borehole of the swimming pool and of a local beverage producer, observe bird waterholes, and wait for the water sprite.
We would be delighted if you share your own memories of the places around Dubová – the ski lift, or the Veronika swimming pool. Send them to us, tell us your stories, or share old photographs of these sites. For more information, call or write: Martin Krištof, matin.kistof@gmail.com, or +421 908 938 339.

📌 Share the event, bring your friends – we look forward to seeing you!

Rara Woulib
Rara Woulib is a theatre collective based in Marseille that performs in public spaces, using music, theatre, and installations. The group seeks to connect traditional rituals with contemporary public spaces, where the sacred often disappears. They create theatrical works that immerse audiences in a dreamlike world – moving between the sacred and the profane, between what is real and what is fictional.
